Where? Oran Mor

http://oran-mor.co.uk/

Why? ''This converted church houses a beautiful whisky bar with over 250 options, among them peaty Talisker, spicy Glenmorangie and smooth and sweet Macallan.'' New York Times Review. Oran Mor is an ambitious center for the performing arts that includes a bar and restaurant as well as different spaces for live music -- often in a Scottish folk vein. I went there with a friend and we enjoy a really good white wine. Oran Mor is a wonderful place to talk, drink, eat, enjoy good music or dancing! Is a church with everything! Obviously is one of my favourite places! Is just awesome! is just Oran mor! Nothing less, nothing more;)

Where? Royal Concert Hall

http://www.glasgowconcerthalls.com/

Why? The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall describes itself as Scotland's premier music venue.
Sitting in an imposing city centre position, proudly looking down Buchanan Street, it is Glasgow's main classical music venue, but also hosts concerts ranging from classical to folk, world, country, rock and pop. Each year it forms the heart of the world-famous Celtic Connections festival.
Its International Classical Season aims to bring the world's best musicians to the Concert Hall stage.
The hall opened in 1990, when Glasgow was European City of Culture, intended to be "Glasgow's Hall for Glasgow's People". It now hosts 400 concerts and over 1,000 corporate events every year.
It contains a whole range of flexible spaces for all kinds of occasion and the 2,475 seat auditorium has played host to many amazing cultural events.
There is also a cafe which is open on a daily basis, and the space around Donald Dewar's statue at the base of the hall's imposing steps - which are themselves a popular sunny-day lunch spot for Glaswegian workers - is used for street theatre and roadshows. In my opinion is the best choice and is one of my favourite music venues in Glasgow!

Where? ABC

Why? One of the newer venues in the city, the ABC has quickly established itself as hotspot since opening in 2005. The Art Deco building once housed one of Scotland's first cinemas and now hosts two music venues and four trendy bars. It got a place in the history books by being the setting for Arab Strap's nostalgia-tinged Scottish retirement party in 2006. The sign outside read: "Arab Strap, thank you and goodbye." ABC 2 is a 350-capacity venue on the first floor with surprisingly upbeat decor and a reputation for intimate, explosive gigs.

Where? The Arches

http://www.thearches.co.uk/
Why? Known as The Arches it’s almost directly under the railway station in the centre.  the Arches was the epitome of raw, slightly edgy, underground chic, and formed the creative heart of the city. It may be geared up mainly for the clubbing nights, theatre, comedy & visual arts but its dark, cavernous walls underneath the Central Station railway lines have also presided over some of the most electrifying & experimental live music you're ever likely to see. So it's definitely worth a pop if you can find the place!

Where? King Tut's Wah Wah Hut

http://www.kingtuts.co.uk/

On any given night in the year you can walk down the steps and into a gig being pumped out by acts you'll be hearing about in 6 months' time, as it has a policy of booking acts before anyone else has even heard of them.
You can enjoy drinks at the bar, enjoy the music and DANCE!
Don't bother who's playing when you visit, just book a ticket from Ticketmaster or at the venue & go for the experience!

Where? Brel

http://www.brelbarrestaurant.com/
Why? A former coach house just off Byres Road,West end, this Belgian bar sits on what is arguably Glasgow's most pleasant thoroughfare, the cobbled Ashton Lane. Cold Belgian beers and excellent moules are on offer before the atmosphere turns from pleasant gastropub to hipster-cool when darkness descends. There's a feast of muso celeb-spotting to be had if you're into that sort of thing. Belle and Sebastian members often DJ or slink in darkened corners. In the moderately warm summer months, you'll be able to "chill on the hill" outside the back of the bar to the sounds of a live jazz band and with the candles warms the atmosphere. The live music ranges from jazz, acoustic folk to DJs willing to play virtually anything that gets people moving. The best place to enjoy your drink and listen to good music.

Where? SECC

http://www.secc.co.uk/
Why? Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) is the best choice for big concerts with many famous singers!
''The Scottish city is the best f---ing place to start Coldplay’s world tour. Let’s f---ing go for it!''  Chris Martin.
It is probably best known for hosting concerts, particularly in Hall 4 (seating and standing 12,500, fully seated 10,000 and fully standing 10,000) and Hall 3 (fully seated 4,232, seated/standing 4,656 and 5,852 for all standing).

Where? Tchai-Ovna

http://tchaiovna.com/
Why? Maybe when you see the picture you said: What is that?? I can promise you this place is indescribability! Is the best choice if you want to go somewhere with your friends, sit down enjoy and listen to the relax music in a small place with a great decoration and you fell like you are in a small village outside Glasgow, somewhere in the mountains!  Delightfully rickety, the place is more of a DIY hut than anything else, but it all adds to the charm. By day you can sample the 80 teas on offer and suck on a Hookah pipe.In the evenings, the room can play host to avant-garde, austere guitar twanging or some more moderate folk.
